Now that all is back to normal (after Christmas) I can’t wait to dive into reading the collection of Good to Know Zines I got for Christmas from Pikaland. I was so stoked as I’ve been eyeing up a few from the series for a while now.
I received:
Issue #1: Creativity
Issue #3: Managing time
Issue #8: HELP!
Issue #9: Rituals & Routines
Issue #10: Fear
You can go have a peek at the rest of the series over here and stay tuned as I’m sure Pikaland will have lots more advice & inspiration on hand throughout the year!
Note to self: I’m keeping this envelope the stamps are beautiful!

I managed to get my hands on a Trodat Professional 5253 DIY Stamp from Amazon EU for the very reasonable price of £26, to use mainly for my business cards.
As an Illustrator I like having the flexibility to change my personal details (if necessary) making the DIY Stamp perfect. It is a true DIY job assembling each character for your stamp together i.e. pretty fiddly - so be prepared to get your hands dirty!

PRESENT /&/ CORRECT:
P /&/ C oozes ephemera, making me feel rather nostalgic of my high school days - when a new school year meant new stationary!
I always thought my obsession with stationary was unknown too most, until last month. I opened on 22nd July (my birthday) a Calendar Desk Tidy from P /&/ C along with a Saffron Pink Pen & a gift voucher to treat myself to more delights from P /&/ C… a certain somebody knows me better than I think!

Beautiful terrariums and planters playfully hang on the window. Poketo Store is opening its doors this weekend. Come by. 820 E 3rd Street Downtown Los Angeles11 AM - 7 PM Daily.

Poketo have been on my radar since I discovered their artist wallets - they have a knack for effortlessly bringing art into our daily lives.
Now with a store in Los Angeles, it’s on my list to travel to. In the mean time I may just have to ship over their Stick-it Up Weekly Calendar.

I currently volunteer at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, working closely with BALTIC’s Learning and Engagement team and supporting BALTIC freelance artists. This involves me engaging families during Busy B’s, BALTIC’s family drop-in art workshop and seasonal events.
During the Easter holiday families were invited to add their creations to BALTIC MINIATURE LANDS. It’s been an exhilarating week creating miniature worlds inside bottles and boxes; including bug houses, volcanos and Usain Bolt inspired cactuses!
It was inevitable that I would be drawn into the BALTIC SHOP at some point and so I present to you my purchase, which you may have figured from the image is Greetings Tape by LAZY OAF.

Titled ‘foundSPECTRUM’ - this is a contender for my favourite collage of all time and will hopefully arrive in the post one day.
In the Post Today: 15slides zine
Anthony Zinonos’ ideas are simply genius you wish you’d thought of them yourself! I’ve been following this guys work since my final year of Art School (in which he gave me some invaluable advice), when I stumbled across every paper fiends dream: Mini DIY Collage Kit.
15slides is made using elements and images from 15 random film slides. This guy has an art for simple clean cut collages and image placement. Mine just arrived this afternoon along with a great free zine quiet in the back please and two excellently crafted cards I’d purchased for upcoming birthdays.
You can buy yours over here and you can keep up to date with Anthony’s blog for updates on new collages and projects he’s currently working on.

Bassenthwaite is the location of this photograph. A place not foreign to myself, haven spent my childhood holidays residing in our static caravan, often forced to take part in family hikes. Track forward in time and it is now one of my treasured places to visit.
It was within the last few years, while meandering in Keswick town that I peered through a shop window where I discovered photographic stories (amongst other delights) told through the canvas’s that adorned the walls. Walking inside I was overcome with acute nostalgia for my childhood holidays (see my post on Treehouse) and that was it - my love for Temporary Measure was born.
Temporary measure is full of magical stories, creative one-off gifts (to yourself) and I do hear a lovely cup of tea - I’m yet to have one!  In addition you can commission them to print your photographs and text onto their organic canvas, organic fair-trade shoppers and eco-friendly cards.
On my bookshelf:
once upon a time when i was a rabbit…
once upon a time when i was the biggest big bear… (one of the first 100 copies!)
In my sewing box:
Various vintage style buttons sewed onto fabric - go along and see what you can find!
